My Grandparents on their 50th anniversary: A love story that began in small town Newfoundland

My Interest in Atlantic Folk Songs

I spent the first 18 years of my life living in the small city of Fredericton New Brunswick, and travelled extensively around the maritime provinces, and recently Newfoundland. While growing up I was constantly confronted with the incredible stories, culture and especially music of the region. When I was given the opportunity in class to explore an aspect of folklore, I jumped on the opportunity to both expand my knowledge of and share what I believe to be one of the greatest gems of Atlantic Canada: Our folk songs. I hope you enjoy!
